Occasionally we get a request to do a sidewalk repair if the sidewalk is cracked, broken or damaged from either tree roots, heavy vehicles or wear and tear. When this happens, we have to make sure that work zone safety rules are followed. It’s very important that no pedestrians are in danger of injury while the sidewalk is in a state of repair. Cones and barriers are put up on the existing sidewalk with signs warning pedestrians that the sidewalk further up is closed. The job is always completed as soon as possible to have the sidewalk functional again.
