    I have lost my home due to tough economic times. I lost my job and don’t want to end up on the streets. A year ago I looked around my apartment and tried to remember some of the excitement I  felt when I first closed on my home.  It had seemed so fresh and spacious back then and I could not wait to move in.  After eight years it just seemed dated, crowded, and dreary.  My sister suggested freshening up the place, starting with a kitchen cabinets renovation.  She said my old kitchen would depress anyone.  I had the cabinets updated, threw out a ton of stuff, and bought slipcovers for my living room furniture.  After I added some new linens and a little paint, the place was exciting and even felt roomy again.
