My husband and I have been doing some research in order to find natural cures for bph.  So far we have discovered that many people advocate the use of saw palmetto for treating benign prostatic hypertrophy.  This herb is well know to have anabolic properties that lend itself to the treatment of bhp.  This herb works by inhibiting the synthesis of DHT and aids in the elimination of DHT by lowering the estrogen levels.  Many people believe that saw palmetto is an effective treatment for an enlarged prostate, even better than the widely prescribed drug Proscar.  Proscar is more expensive and has several undesirable side effects.
