New studies show that the average motorcycle claim is $14,000.00. $14,000 ???

The reason that motorcycle insurance Alberta rates are generally increasing is for two reasons:

1) Today’s motorcycles cost far more than they did 10 or 20 years ago and you are seeing more and more bikes on the road. With more expensive bikes on the road this is increasing the claims costs.

2) If injured on a motorcycle your chance of being seriously injured are greater than that of any other vehicle. The costs involved with caring for a motorcycle patient are far more expensive than that of a normal crash victim.

Considering the two explanations above, there is no wonder why Alberta motorcycle insurance rates are generally increasing.
