I am really scared of air condition malfunction especially when it emits a strange odor. I heard about a famous singer in the Philippines where her father and brother met an ill fate just sleeping in the car with the air conditioner on. The air conditioner emitted carbon monoxide that killed her brother quickly while her father was revived but incurred a brain damage that resulted to lifelong paralysis. I remembered about it as I am staying in one of the accommodation in Gold Coast. The air condition in my room has suddenly malfunctioned so immediately I called the attention a hotel personnel to immediately do something about it.
