I had an uncle who lived in Hong Kong but he owned property in Canada, in his will he had wanted the charities to have his properties in Canada, but in order to make sure his will would be legal in Canada, he had to go through the Legalization of his will, and this made his will legal in Canada. If he didn’t go through the legalization of his will chances are there could of have been arguments as to where his money would go, and how his estate would be distributed. With the legalization of his will, it made it final how he wanted his assets handled.
